Launch of HE Bates SocietyAuthor finally has his own society in Centenary YearToday's Date --In his Centenary Year H.E. Bates finally has his own dedicated Society to provide a focal point for all persons interested in the author throughout the World. The Society is launched with the help and assistance of the Bates family and is the brainchild of David Linnell, Town Clerk at Higham Ferrers, a long time fan of the author's work. The society will be publishing a periodic newsletter for Members and holding meetings and seminars to discuss and promote the work of the author. The Society was formally launched at Chichele College, Higham Ferrers, simultaneously with the new H.E Bates Rushden Trail leaflet. The Society has its' own Website at www.hebates.co.uk where further information can be found.
